Taking the place as Turkish shipyard Alia Yachts’ flagship, 60-metre Samurai was an anticipated build in 2016. After her delivery, the new yacht was entered into the running for the World Superyacht Awards in 2017, where she was highly commended for her design. It's not surprising, considering her estimable design team of Omega Architects for the exteriors, RWD for the interiors and Van Oossanen for the naval architecture.

Defined by well-balanced exteriors that are punctuated by 12 rectangular windows and a curvaceous central line, Samurai was always destined to appeal strongly to the charter market. Classically beautiful looks on the exterior are then brought within the yacht’s interiors, which are arranged with wide open spaces and plenty of natural light.
RWD took full advantage of her 1,029 GT volume to create accommodation for 12 guests on board. The design is light and bright, with pops of bold colours from soft furnishings. All five cabins are located on the main deck, which includes the 87.1-square-metre owner’s cabin with a lounge area and skylight. The master has also been finished with Asian-inspired motifs referencing Samurai’s name and offers panoramic views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
The four guest suites are convertible between a double or twin configuration. If additional accommodation is needed, the study on the bridge deck can be converted into a double cabin with its own shower.
Life on board Samurai
While she splits her seasons between the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, Samurai and her crew have become something of a Swiss Army Knife of charter. Her sprawling outdoor spaces are perfect for soaking up the rays and enjoying the views with a cocktail in hand. She has a 7.7-square-metre sundeck complete with a hot tub and an impressive beach club with a folding balcony.
Her crew, well accustomed to Carribean cruising, have perfected the art of surprise, with mesmerising beach setups, barbeques with island chefs, bonfire nights and beach games.
For those who want to keep up with their fitness regime while on charter, Samurai has a fully stocked gym with a treadmill, Peloton, free weights and more. The chef can also whip up green smoothies, healthy snacks or protein-rich meals on demand. Post-workout, guests can unwind in the yacht's sauna or steam room.
Also hidden in the beach club is Samurai’s toybox, which is brimming with fun and offers everything to keep guests entertained. From Seabobs and jet skis to e-foils and paddleboards, frolicking in the water is very much in the 60-metre’s remit.
